Huawei Pura 80 Ultra
The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra is one of Huawei’s most advanced smartphones, especially aimed at users seeking a premium phone with a top-tier photography setup. Its offering combines a high-quality display, meticulous design, powerful battery, and an especially ambitious camera system, highlighted by its 1-inch main camera and dual telephoto system.
6.8-inch OLED LTPO display
The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra features a 6.8-inch OLED LTPO display with a resolution of 2848 × 1276 pixels and a density of 460 ppi, delivering a sharp, smooth image with excellent detail. It also has an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz, allowing fluidity to adjust according to content to enhance the visual experience and optimize power consumption. It also includes high-frequency PWM dimming at 1440 Hz and touch sampling up to 300 Hz.
The screen is designed to offer a premium experience both in daily use and in multimedia playback, browsing, gaming, or photo editing. Additionally, Huawei highlights a maximum brightness of up to 3,000 nits, aimed at improving visibility even outdoors in bright light.
1-inch main camera and XMAGE system
One of the main highlights of the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra is its camera system. Its main camera is a 50 MP HDR Ultra Lighting camera with a 1-inch sensor, variable aperture f/1.6-f/4.0, and optical image stabilization. This configuration is designed to capture more light, improve dynamic range, and achieve highly detailed photos in various lighting conditions.
This main camera is complemented by a 40 MP ultra wide-angle camera, ideal for landscapes, architecture, group photos, or more creative shots. The setup is completed with a specially advanced telephoto system, featuring dual optical zoom of 3.7x and 9.4x, one of the most distinctive features of this model.
Switchable dual telephoto lens
The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra stands out for its dual switchable telephoto lens system, which allows working with two different optical focal lengths: 3.7x and 9.4x. According to Huawei, this camera supports both levels of optical zoom, offering more versatility for portraits, distant details, urban photography, travel, or scenes where you want to zoom in without losing quality.
In practice, this system makes the Pura 80 Ultra a very powerful phone for those who value zoom photography highly, as it is not limited to a single traditional telephoto lens.
Performance and memory
The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra incorporates the Kirin 9020 processor, accompanied by 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage, according to Huawei’s official specs in markets where this configuration is detailed. It does not support expansion via external memory card.
This is a configuration typical of a high-end device, designed to offer smooth multitasking, photo editing, intensive app use, multimedia playback, and demanding daily tasks.
Battery and fast charging
In terms of battery life, the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra features a 5,170 mAh battery in the international version reviewed by specialized media, with Huawei SuperCharge 100 W fast charging, 80 W wireless charging, and 20 W reverse wireless charging.
This combination allows the device to be used for long hours and to quickly recharge when needed, both wired and wirelessly.
Premium design and durability
The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra maintains a very distinctive aesthetic within the Pura family, featuring a prominent camera module and high-end finishes. Huawei also highlights the use of second-generation Crystal Armour Kunlun Glass on the screen, aimed at improving the device's durability.
Its design is intended to convey a premium feel, with an elegant finish and careful construction, maintaining a balance between aesthetics, technology, and visual presence.
Operating system
The device comes with EMUI 15.0 in the international version, according to Huawei's official sheet.
As is common with current Huawei phones in European and international markets, it is important to note that the software experience may differ from other traditional Androids, especially due to Huawei's service ecosystem.
